Our nonprofit flag football league creates a safe, inclusive space where young people can grow on and off the field. Through teamwork, discipline, and friendly competition, kids learn valuable life skills that extend far beyond the game. We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to belong, to be active, and to be inspired.

By focusing on play as a powerful tool for personal development, we’re building confidence, encouraging leadership, and fostering resilience—one flag pull at a time.

Celebrating 15 Years of Greenwich Girls Flag

In this the 15th year of the Girls Flag Football League we would like to thank the pioneers that paved the way for the thousands of young ladies that have participated in the Greenwich Girls league over the past 15 years. Long before flag football for girls became the fastest youth sport in the country these young ladies were out in front leading the way by example. We are extremely proud of them...

In celebration of the 15th year will feature a few of the young ladies that helped make us what we are today the largest girls flag football league in the Tri-State area.

This week's feature was silent but deadly, especially on DEFENCE. 

Allie dominated on defense... She was very coachable, she was also always in the right place.   This young lady was the key to her team winning three consecutive girl league championships. We are extremely PROUD AND GRATFUL for Allie and her contributions to Girls Flag Football in the town of Greenwich.

MEET ALI

“While most girls’ soccer, basketball, and softball leagues have thankfully caught up to their boys’ counterparts for the most part, flag football for girls is not nearly as common.  As a young girl who loved football from a young age, I lamented not being able to have the same opportunities to play as my brothers and make friends—until the arrival of the GFFL (now the Northeast Flag Football League).  I was lucky enough to participate in the inaugural seasons of the league and experience the rushes and joys unique to football: intercepting a pass, cheering on teammates juking their opponents, and pulling off trick plays for scores.  Meeting girls from all around town that were also excited to play football was so much fun, as was starting to learn the Xs and Os of the game with coaches.  Beyond the usual lessons of camaraderie, perseverance, and resilience that comes from playing a team sport, football specifically felt so much to me, since it felt like a step into a place that girls previously hadn’t been able to go.  I remain a huge football fan to this day, and have used it to connect with so many people of all different backgrounds, and so much of it came from being able to play as a kid!  I am so grateful to all of the organizers that made it possible, especially the president and Coach, Dee Fludd.  You showed me that football is for everyone!
